juniper trail hiking days

while on our trip, emily, maggie, justin and i spent two days hiking the juniper flats side trail loop for our final project. here are some of shots from along the trail - even though larry thought our trail was boring, we DID get to see all kinds of neat stuff along the way!

if you want to take a look at the trail guide we made, heres the link:

let me know what you think!

by the light of the moon

here you go neil!

on our first night at cabot head, everyone gathered on the shore to take a peek at the moon. larry had his telescope out, and i found out that i can take pretty sweet shots through it :)

beachcombing

the beach was chock full of interesting goodies. the neatest thing for me though, was the crayfish skeletons! i had never seen these before... anyway, i found myself a cool little fossil too.

hope you enjoy these shots, let me know what you think!

shipwrecks and georgian rocks

heres the snap of the view from either side of our cottage at cabot head. man, i wish i was there right now...

on the docks

i've never been sailing...

but on our way to cabot head, we made a lunch break at this marina, and i really enjoyed walking around, getting a feel for the coast. there is such a different atmosphere out there...

the mighty willie

the mighty willie towered over us as we embarked on a journey that i will not soon forget... walking stick in one hand, camera in the other, this was the start of my first trip to the bruce peninsula.

it was just in time, too - poor little guy passed away just a couple of days later... bad karma?

nah.

up where the air is clear

When you send it flyin' up there
All at once you're lighter than air
You can dance on the breeze
Over 'ouses and trees
With your fist 'olding tight
To the string of your kite.

pesticide free prickly pears

in the chronological story of my life, this post should have gone before the last... i guess thats the problem with back tracking :P

this was one of the coolest lawns i've ever seen. we went to it as a part of a field trip for my applied field studies class. kudos for figuring out ways to have an awesome garden that doesnt require pesticides, fertilizer, watering, or mowing, and for keeping those prickly pears alive and happy!

shiny happy people

i went to the olympic island concert a couple of weeks ago. good friends, good music, expensive food... soooo worth it :) we had a gorgeous day - the sun was shining, it was warm, and everyone was dancing.

anyway, i have a lot of really far away, not-so-great shots of the bands, but i liked how these two turned out. what do you think?!

Catch up time!

ok.

so, i've been a slacker lately with my posts... but its because i've been trying to NOT be a slacker at school. however, summer is long when you are slaving away in class for 4 months :P and i think its time to remind myself that ive been having a lot of fun too! even though the next two weeks are going to be WAAAAAY more cramped, school wise, than the rest of the term has been.

it's almost over now... an essay, 3 reports, 3 finals, then i can sleep :)
