as the fog rolls in

things aren't quite right...
feeling a little foggy i guess...
unsure of the future? perhaps that's it...
i'll try to sleep on it...

really wish the heater in my room wasnt broken.

thanksgiving

its time to back track a bit.

this thanksgiving i went to my aunt's cottage on three mile lake. this first picture is of my parents on the dock at sunrise. i couldn't figure out how to make thier faces come out any better without losing the intensity of the sun... any suggestions?

before heading home from the cottage, we decided to detour to algonquin park. i had never been there before, so there was way too much to explore all in one day. we just went on a couple of trails, but it was totally worth it - everything was gorgeous - even the graffiti.

SOES at sunrise

at the beginning of september, i got a chance to go to the scarborough outdoor ed school near algonquin park. that was the farthest north i'd ever been! weird, eh? it was absolutely gorgeous - gorgeous enough to convince me to wake up at 6:30 in the morning without an alarm clock to enjoy a sunrise canoe ride. the lake was unbelievable at that time of morning, just coated in fog. it was awesome. special thanks to kristy for showing me an great time - i miss you hun

the interns

so, until december, this is my albion hills student crew. from left to right, we are graham, jason, me, and kelly. one of the staff here took this shot of us on the highest hill at albion (lookout point) while we were doing our training on hiking routes. things are going well so far... the food is even pretty decent, keep your eyes open for the soon to be hit comedy "three cooks and an intern"

an ode to jbd the 5th

oh, what a birthday - classy to say the least. i hope you had a good time brian!

fluttering treasures

here's the story: you see, larry told our group that we wouldnt be leaving to go to dave's bay until a certain time, so we finished up at our trail early, then came back to the cottage so we would have some time to rest. lo and behold, we got to the cottage to find that everyone was already packed up, ready to go to the bay, and they had planned on just swinging by and picking up our group on the way! they made us leave right away, and we had no time to get ready. i didnt get my bathing suit, and so while everyone else was swimming, i had some time do do a little solitary exploring. despite my angry mood, it worked out well, and i found this little treasure along with a few other neat things.

im not sure how it works, but it seemed like these guys were crystalized in some sort of jelly-ish muck... almost like getting caught in a spider's web, but a little different - no spider. sounds gross, but looked so cool!
